Balanced uses 2 wires for Tx and two wires for Rx.
The signal is inverted on one of the wires (ie signal on TxA is opposite
polarity to TxB) This has the effect of making the signal more resilient to
noise(Any noise present on both wires will have little effect as the signal
is derived from the difference between the two wires, which will remain the
same (ish))
Unbalanced uses one Tx wire, one Rx wire and a signal reference or ground.
The control signals/clocking for both use the same format as the data wires.
x21 specifies a DB15 connector, all of its pin assignments etc etc.
>From what I remember, V11 does not specify the physical interface, just the
voltage levels etc. so an interface can be V11/X21.
