Hi,

In my experience most of the top known companies are good.

The dificulty with Cabletron is that almost each series has a different command
structure. The ElS1000 is not remotely like a SmartSwitch 9000 which looks nothing
like the SSR's. But once configured they work ok.

What I don't like and a number of machines from various are guilty of it (or maybe I
like about Cisco) is when you do a clear on the counters in a number of modles this
only happens until you log out. So if you decide to clear the counters and come back
later and you have left the machine even timed out your couters are back to what they
were. This make trouble shooting a bit of a pain.

Be wary of the autoneg as they can produce some horrible stuff.

www.enterasys.com/support/manuals/ is a must for Cabletron stuff.

Just some thoughts.
