The AS range is 1 to 655535. RFC 1930 provides guidelines for AS numbers.
64512 through 65535 are reserved for private use.
Hope that helps.

Subject: Private AS
Hi,
I am trying to study BGP and do a network design using the BGP routing.
I have a question regarding the Autonomous system numbers. Is there is any
private AS?. Which AS I can use in a private domain.?
Thank you !
