Hello,
I was hoping although this isn't a Cisco problem, being a newsgroup
about routing someone could help. Anyway this is being done on Gated
ver3.6. Below is the topology and config, although the config changes
from machine to machine. This is basically the setup I have. When I
use just PPPoE and no regular ethernet, no problem. And of course the
opposite is true as well. As soon as I go from an ethernet segment to a
PPPoE segment the Ethernet segment times out or goes down. Doing a
tcpdump I get this message "RTR1 gated[1806]: if_rtdown: down route for
interface fxp0 192.168.6.4/255.255.255". Does anyone know how to fix
this problem? I'm assuming it has something to do with NBMA, but I'm
not sure what to do to fix it. All comments are welcome! I have to use
RIP for this! Although it would seem better to use OSPF, I don't think
OSPF would work well in the wireless half of the diagram I left out.
Plus my boss told me I have to use RIP!
rip yes {

interface tun0

ripout
