The most extreme demonstration I've seen is running TCP over Telnet 
(which was itself running over a different TCP session).

On the continuing thread of such demonstration, having a toaster 
controlled by SNMP goes into near-antiquity (for this field).  Having 
a messaging protocol controlling a robotic arm that took bread in and 
out of the toaster, however, was rather elegant.
