Rahul,
Cannot help you with Stanford, I'm UK. I took my
Masters in "Computer Networking" 8 years ago, it got
me into networking (S/W Engineering) straight away.
The course wasn't that helpful to what I do now
(Network Engineering). This is an area that can lend
itself heavily to Statistical Analysis. So, if the MSc
is relatively knew and the lecturers of Networking are
not in abundance, you may find yourself crunching
Probabilities of infinite sized queues or analysis of
CSMA/CD versus CSMA/CA in such painful detail that I
care not to remember. In the UK we still have to prove
an Academic detail of such matters to attain Masters
or Bachelors for that matter.

Good side about an MSc is everyone knows what it is,
you can go Techy or Management and you can teach
Bachelors level in University. You may choose to do
all or none of these in your career, but you have a
choice.

If you can get a MSc that tags CCIE in (which I very
much doubt) I would be tempted to recommend that line.

Otherwise I would select your MSc course carefully to
make sure it meets your expectations and pick up any
Cisco qualifications you can along the way.

HTH,

Phil MSc, CCNP
