Sorry to break it to you, but the cat6000 series can ONLY do MLS with their
internal RSM/MSFC cards. No external routers need apply. I've got 6509s
running at L2 only with 7507s doing the routing, and no MLS. To do MLS with
an external router you've got to do 'set mls include a.b.c.d', right?
Here's output from my switch (running 6.1.2):
CSGEMTLXD101> (enable) set mls ?
agingtime Set agingtime for MLS cache entry
exclude Set MLS excluded protocol ports
flow Set minimum flow mask
nde Configure Netflow Data Export
statistics Add protocols to protocol statistics list
CSGEMTLXD101> (enable) set mls include 1.2.3.4
Unknown command "set mls include". Use 'set mls help' for more info.
CSGEMTLXD101> (enable)
So unfortunately for us, the new flagship switch is less capable than a 5000
series in this respect!
