Basic answer-  use NetFlow or with smaller routers (assuming you have
limited means, i.e. no RMON probes) IP Accounting & have your tool sguy
write a script to purge Sho IP Accounting.  From this you should be able to
set up an Excel sheet (assuming you know your SNMP IP's).  I had to do this
for a couple of days when one of our NetScouts went down :o(
