Hi
You have a switch which has been shipped with the router IOS . what you
need to do is to upgrade the supervisor software IOS . Please be careful ,
in case you use redundant sups and flash cards. Download the IOS from the
site , remove one flash card from the switch and upgrade to switch IOS ,
then do the same for the other flash card too . It works , but its funny ,
cisco always ships it this way . Normally a session command needs to work ,
but basically the switch thinks that its a router in the presence of the
MSFC card in switch and straightaway boots as a router , hence the router
prompt instead of the normal switch prompt .
Thanks

Subject: 6500 Catalyst Boots straight to MSFC router module ...
We just received 4 new 6500's. Unboxed and powered them up, they boot
straight to the Router> prompt. How do we get to the Switch> prompt. We
have tried to CTRL+SHIFT+6, X and other key sequences, but have been
unsuccessful.
Thanks for your help in advance.
