Hi Group,
I have 3 2509s, a 2610 (with 2 56k cards and/or 1 T1 card and/or 1 serial
DB-60 card) and a 1603 (with a 56k card and a DB-60 serial) and wanted to
connect them together via their serial interfaces. Would I have to use:
1) A few CSU's (Adtrans probably), connect a 2509 serial to a CSU, and then
connect that CSU to another CSU which goes into the 2nd 2509 serial
interface (same thing for the second 2509 to the third 2509 - effectively
making the 2nd 2509 a FR switch). Would I use CAT5 crossover cables between
the CSUs (these CSU's use RJ-45 connections)? Then make the 2610 another FR
switch and connect that to both the 3rd 2509 and the 1603.
R1---CSU1==CSU2/1---R2---CSU2/2==CSU3/1---R3---CSU3/2==56k---2610---56k==56k
---1603
2) Or, use crossover DB-60 cables between the 2509s? A DB-60 crossover
between the 3rd 2509 and the 2610 and a CAT5 crossover from a 56k card on
the 2610 to a 56k card on the 1603? No, that won't work -where's the
clocking?
Anyway, you can see my dilemna. Appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks,
Sean C.
