Beth,

    Visio is excellent.  Customers like functional diagrams, and nice
looking colorful one's as well.  Visio offers all of this and more.  As with
any program you master, this one provides some kick butt results, and it is
not hard at all to use.  The best part about it is that you diagram you
network logically by the layer of device, you don't have to always provide
the exact piece of equipment, instead you can place the generic router or
switch symbol into your diagram.
    I am in the process of putting together ATM training at my organization
and visio is an excellent way in combination with Power Point to provide a
well rounded presentation.  I know you would like a million more but the
companies I have worked for have used Visio, it is the easiest to use.
