PRI network side emulation has been available for a while. I am pretty sure you need an MFT interface. I have set this up several times on the NM-HDV voice modules which have an MFT in them. The choice of switch types to emulate is limited though. You can absolutely to a back to back PRI if you have the right hardware and feature set. I have only done it with MFT's using IP PLUS software and the 6608 T1 blade on the Cat 6509. BRI's would be a little different since they use a different line coding. I have only heard second hand that it can be done and have never tried it. I don't know if its just for a p to p type circuit or you can do actual ISDN switching and switch a call out different interfaces. That would be cool !!
