You will not be able to ping it because it's a NBMA interface, not like an
ethernet interface where the ping does not go to the line.  It's much like a
frame relay interface which is also an NBMA, unless it's a point-to-point
interface.  the only way you can ping this is to add "protocol ip 2.2.2.1
broadcast" or map the protocol ip address to the same pvc as 2.2.2.2.  The
ping packet will go out to the wire and then back.
