Hello, Since I've had dialog with you offline I thought I would fill you in on the difference. The ILS-1000 is the demonstrator model and it only offers the U interface. All 2500 series routers have S/T type BRI interface, so if you were to use the cheaper ILS-1000 series you would have to buy an NT1 adapter. However, if you buy the ILS-2000 you get both U and S/T interface support so there is no additional hardware requirements, just plug your RJ-45 in the S/T connector on the ILS-2000 and then plug the RJ-45 on the other end to your S/T type connector on your router.
