A quick search on www.cisco.com with the keywords "password recovery" turned
up the following jewel:

You're not going to be able to do this using telnet, though. You're going
to have to have console access to pull it off. If you have a modem and an
available phone line at the remote site, you could gain console access via
dial-up.

| I have a Cisco 2524 router that I inherited. When I telnet to it, I get

| User Access Verification and it asks for a password. Considering the old
| manager of this router was fired, it is VERY unlikely he will give up the
| password. How can I get around this?
