No and none... AB and CD are on different networks so even though they are
in the same VLAN they will not talk.  A can see B and C can see D but as AB
is the 10.1.1.0/24 network and CD is the 10.1.2.0/24 network they will not
see each other.  To get them to talk together, put them on the same network.

No access is allowed between AB and CD unless you trunk to a router and
perform routing...

The difference between these two senerios is in number 1 you have one
broadcast domain (VLAN) and changing the netmask could get them to talk.  In
number two you have two broadcast domains (and two networks) and you need
routing capabilities to route between VLANs.
