I have always been a little confused by RIP & IGRP hold down timers.I wonder
if some one could clarify the following.

1) Is the route marked as possibly down & placed into holddown only when a
higher metric is received for the same route from the origional source? What
if it receiced an update that a specific network was unreacable, but from a
new source?

2)Once the route is is marked as possibly down and placed into hold down are
packets still forwarded untill the route is flushed?
