try
modem autoconfigure-discovery

or reverse telnet to port
2001 if its line 1 on yr router
u can see by
sh line command
get yr strings from 56k.com
and do it manually

also do
debug confmodem b4 modem autoconfigure-discovery
to c whats happening with modem
