Here is a brief list of some of the important processes for me along my
journey....

* I passed the Written in January 2001.
* I took one week long class ANEWII back in May 2001. (Very Good, thanks
Steve McQuerry)
* I read the All in One study Guide, not bad has about 82 basic labs.
* I read the CCIE Lab Practice Kit (6 Case Studies) Long scenarios, not all
current (AppleTalk, Decnet)
* I spent a week at the University of Pittsburgh, in their CCIE Lab.
Pretty good, however they don't give you the answers to their labs.
* I spent 3 days in my local Cisco office on their CCIE rack, not as
beneficial as I had hoped.
* I have some test equipment at work, 4 2500's, 2 2600's, took all the
equipment home and spent countless hours practicing.
* About 3 weeks before my exam, I purchased the IPExpert Workbook, along
with about (6) 12 hour blocks over the course of three weeks.

That's it in a very small nutshell...

Good luck to each of you, I do believe it is a very worthwhile goal...

Thanks,

John A. Johns, CCIE #7983, CCDP, CCNP, MCSE, MCP+I, CCA, A+

Could you share your experience with us. What you covered, training
methodolgy equipment used, classes taken, things like that. Things that were
useful along, wastes of time. Of course with the NDA in mind. Not what was
on the test but what you did before you opened the door to the Lab center.
