  I just experienced the same problem in a lab this week. If you establish
OSPF neighbors ok w/out authentication, and your debug shows that you are
failing on mismatch authentication, try redoing your command by removing it
and reentering it... I don't know why this worked for me, and I KNOW I
didn't misstype or mispell the word I used for authentication (cisco). I
deleted the entry, and reentered, and viola! The only other thing you could
try is to reload the affected router... I have seen some quirky things
lately that seem to clear with a reload. Bill Gates would be so proud.
