IP source routing is a feature of IP that allows the sender to specify the
routers that the packet must go through. It uses the IP Options field.
You can even try it for yourself with a Cisco or MS-DOS extended ping.
It has nothing to do with Token Ring source-routing, by the way.
Apparently you can tell a router to discard any incoming packets that have
this option on if you use the "no ip source-route" command that you
discovered.
