You can't get a Checkpoint box that will run on a decent box for the prices of the 501 and 506. Some may disagree on that. But, there's no reason not to get both Cisco and Checpoint certs. Checkpoint is a great product and it's not going away anytime soon. It really depends on what you think you'll be exposed to.
