I'll show you how the router behaves when deleting the subinterface:

C7206A(config)#inter hssi6/0.50 poi
C7206A(config-subif)#no inter hssi6/0.50 poi
% Not all config may be removed and may reappear after reactivating the
sub-inte
rface
C7206A(config)#

  This is where the reload is needed.
