In our facility we are installing Dell PCs, all are GX100, GX110, and GX150 with integrated 3com NIC 3C918 and 3C920. The PCs are connected to 5000's, 5509's, 5500's, 2900XLs, 2924EN, 1900 and 4000 series Switches. When connected to Cisco device the NIC gets an orange link light instead of a green light and the switch has a green link light as it is supposed to. When I connect one of the PC to a switch other than a Cisco such as CentreCom, or Netgear they get a green link light as they should. Is there anyone out there having this problem. I have to assume if the NIC should get a green link light then an orange light is not optimal, although the PCs work just fine. Assuming default configs on all of the switches and an orange link before the PC boots into windows (rules out operating system) maybe there is a setting in the switch that will correct this. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Brad Moss, CCNA Network Administrator CHRISTUS St. Joseph's Medical Center - South www.christushealth.org (903) 737-3160 [EMAIL PROTECTED]
