Is it slow at work today or what? I was browsing CCO and ran across something called "long reach ethernet"

Interesting, because on the surface, it doesn't seem like it would be less expensive than re-wiring, but if one looks at someplace like a hotel, where ripping walls out to string a new wiring infrastructure would be exceedingly disruptive, it makes sense. Anyone looked into this? done it? this appears to be a very new product to Cisco. the web docs are dated within the last few weeks.
