I've seen this occur on when a Cisco switch is connected to another with a non-Cisco switch in the middle in the following manner:
CISCO----half-duplex----NONCISCO----full-duplex----CISCO CDP messages are not recognized by the non-Cisco switch, and are passed through unchanged. Each Cisco switch legitimately sets it's CDP duplex setting; however when they pass through the non-Cisco switch, the far-side Cisco switch is given the appearance of a duplex mismatch. Assuming there is no real duplex mismatch, you can try one of the following: -Disable CDP -Change the logging levels In both cases, check CCO for details.
