In today's episode of Tool Time....

Tim supercharges an AGS with CSC-3 by attaching a Binford rocket motor.

Heidi, Tim's lovely assistant, puts out Tim's fire and smilingly
presents
     a 7100 to the audience.

Al demonstrates one of my favorite real-world scenarios:

A customer had a 7000 in a raised-floor computer room. The interface
cables came straight back, went over a strain relief bar, and dropped
into the floor.

One of the redundant power supplies failed, and the router didn't
drop a bit. Cisco asked that the failed one be sent to them to be
exchanged.

That's when the design became worthy of Tim the Toolman. The large,
tie-wrapped bundle of interface cables was too close to the back of
the router to pull out the failed power supply and replace it,
without disconnecting all the interface cables and moving them to the
side. Not the ideal for fault tolerance, was it?

Serious advice--when installing routers with modular power supplies,
always be sure they have a clear path in and out of the chassis.
