Cisco Secure Intrusion Detection System by Cisco Press (ISBN 1-58705-034-X) should tell you just about anything you would want to know about installing and configuring IDS. I bought it from walmart.com for $35. It delves into initial configuration of the sensor as well as using CSPM to manage maintain it.
