Hello group,

I have set up an access server using a cisco 3620 (1 E1 interface and 1
FastEhternet) and IOS version: 12.1 (5) T10.

The E1 interface will provide both ISDN and PSTN connections, the
FastEthernet is for the LAN connection.

I would like to activate MPPC compression with clients using NT (service
Pack 6a) and PCMCIA modems. Cisco recommands that we use MPPC compression
with Win 95 and NT clients.

When ever I watch the output of the debug ppp negotiation command during the
connection phase between the client and the Access server, I think the
connections goes fine.

Here is the output of the debug ppp negotiation command:

But I when I try to ping a host on the remote network the first ping passes
through and the rest of the icmp packets don't.
To solve this I desactivate the compression on both sides, and the ping goes
through.

With the above and with output of the "debug ppp negociation" command, I can
conclude that the compression negotiation does works well, but the client
and the Access server can't exchange informantion.

Can somebody tell me if compression negotiation phase is correct or maybe
there is a bug reference with the configuration of compression with mppc.

Any information is welcome.

Thank you all.

Rock BASSOLE
