You can still pursue the CCDP. If you look at the certification tracking website, it should show you started your CCDP back when you started passing exams related to the CCNP or CCDA. I just did exactly the same thing. I passed my CCNP about 2 years ago and just got my CCDP with the CID test last month. It wasn't clear to me either based on what I could dig up on Cisco's website, however I scheduled the exam anyway and followed up on the tracking website to make sure it showed me as completing my CCDP.
