He could be referring to EIGRP load balancing (if using EIGRP). I have used both methods to balance traffic over multiple T1s. If you *are* using EIGRP, then let it handle the balancing as then there is no extra overhead associated with MLPPP. If your routing protocol doesn't support equal cost load balancing, then I would use the MLPPP method.
