Hi Dear Friends,

My company is considering using CiscoSecure to do AAA and we are not
sure which one we should use, Windows or UNIX. I have the following
questions, please help me to clarify:

1. My friend told me Windows has a lot of security holes. My question is
if Windows is only using TCP/IP, it only has IP based security holes,
like SNMP vulnerability. But UNIX is also IP based, it also has this
kind of security holes, right? So if I put all the security patches from
Microsoft, this shouldn't be a problem. Is this statement valid?

2. My friend also told me that Windows is easier to crash. I knew NT 4
is not stable, but as far as I know, 2000 and XP are pretty stable. The
problem is if we have to hire a UNIX guy, it costs more than an NT guy,
right? So what other advantages UNIX buy me?

We definitely don't want to use any free AAA server since we couldn't
get any vendor support.

Thank you very much.

Yoshi
