As you get the message waiting for acrrier timeout,I would act on the following order:
- Check the cable (try 1 or 2 cables) between the Nt1 and the 1600 router - If this does not work then I am 90 % sure that it is a Telco problem. Have them check the ISDN switch (near the 1600) and the NT1. note: there is a third possibility, and that is having the bri interface broken. But I have never found one, and I have installed and configured a lot of them. Hope this helps.
