We ran OSPF on a realtively small network (15 sites, about 2-5 network devices per site). All 2500's with 4MB of RAM. Not even close to taxing the routers. This was at an ISP with about a /21 worth of class Cs spread out in a not-so-intelligent manner between the sites.
