I don't believe Cisco has announced when the old version will go away, but I think the common wisdom among the people who have taken the beta is that it is much harder. If you're close to ready for the exam, now is a good time to get in study mode and be done with it.
By the way, if I'm wrong and it turns out there's a lot of time before the update comes up; so what... You'll already have finished it and moved on to lab preparation, which is a lot more fun... :-) If you need some extra study materials, I've posted some free documents as www.laganiere.net and the old cramsession I wrote years ago is still at www.cramsession.com (with corrections on my website)...
