Sorry for the bad description, I was short on time. What it turned out to be
was that I had configured everything for a stub area, then a totally stub
area, and then I configured it as an NSSA. Apparently with the IOS version I
was using, or maybe this is always the case, the ospf interfaces need to be
"cleared" or something like that? Anyway, I killed the ospf processes on
each router, reconfigured as NSSA initially, and all worked fine,
automatically translating the routes.
