Cisco made a cheaper one, model 500CS. Specifically 508CS and 516CS with 8 and 16 rj45 serial ports and a 10Mb AUI interface. I've bought two of them on ebay for around $300, and $400. They work great. I don't see any on Ebay right now, but they show up from time to time.
