I believe this is only true for Silver and up if the local Cisco CAM will sponsor you to the ASET program, which has been on, off, on, off... You can contact your local Cisco office to see if the in-house lab engineer will let you practice on their equipment. Last time I checked, the SE was real friendly, as long as he thinks you won't damage anything on the racks.
