DLSW+ does establish a TCP connection between 2 routers by using defined
local and remote peers. The following global config commands are used :

dlsw local-peer peer-id 172.25.250.1
dlsw remote-peer 0 tcp 172.25.250.129

You also need to define a bridge group(SNA is not routable) for DLSW. The
following is also in global config mode

bridge 1 protocol ieee
dlsw bridge-group 1

The last piece is to assign the bridge group to correct interfaces:

interface Ethernet0
 ip address 172.25.250.1 255.255.255.128
 bridge-group 1

The router on the other side looks the same way only reversed(local peer and
remote peer are swapped)

Obviously, there are other commands needed to set up a router. These are
just the DLSW+ commands. The hardest part to get this running, was doing the
Canonical/Non-Canonical translations for the Hardware addressees. We are
going from Token Ring to Ethernet. Fortunately, the mainframe guys had to
deal with that. Hope this helps!

Hi,

I am using DLSW over frame relay already. Works great. From what I can
remember, DLSW+ establishes a TCP connection between the 2 routers, leaving
the SNA on the LAN's

I just have a curiousty question. Hopefully you can help me out...

Current Setup:

Site A is connecting to Site B via Frame-Relay and is only transporting SNA.
Of course w/ SNA you have a SNA server and assign all users a LU. We are
getting ready to take out all SNA and make this IP that's flowing across the
Frame.. but it's still SNA on my provider side. I'm curious as to how they
are going to accomplish this. They require we use a specific naming
convention on all our Win2K machines. I'm thinking they're going to use
DLSW+
? Any input is greatly appreciated. If you need more info, please ask, I'm
kinda in a hurry!

Adam
