Those of you with high speed internet connections are aware of some sites that seem to be aware of your high speed connection and inundate you with additional content. This is usually in th form of video, flash ads that get in the way of everything else, etc. I'm wondering if anyone knows how they know you're using a high speed connection.
Are they really doing some sort of check to verify your connection speed? If so, how are they doing this? I'd like to find out so I can determine if there is an easy way to break it. :-) Just because I have a cable modem at home doesn't mean I want to be bombarded with additional flashy advertisements.
