Why be so pedantic - we should be congratulating the guy on qualifying for the lab not shooting him down with "details". By saying he got his written, he is in no way implying that it is a certification, as you have incorrectly asserted.
I would imply that what he "got" is his piece of paper which says "you passed" and he can now: 1) Sit for the lab 2) Access parts of the web specifically for those that have passed their written, including the other group groupstudy.com which is for CCIE candidates, as well as access to Cisco forum sites.
