The IEEE specification describes, besides other things, the Spanning Tree protocol.
The IEEE 802.1W describes the Rapid Spanning Tree Algorithm and Protocol (RSTP). It recommends that the RSTP be adopted in future MAC implementations. I was wondering if it is the Spanning Tree used in the available switches today.
