Guy please put a sniffer on the link now. I experienced this and was
chasing my tail until putting a sniffer on the link and I had 2 pc's on
the LAN dropping a 5500 to it's knees. They were developers machines
which they reformatted and put no virus protection or anything on and
had the SQL slammer worm on them.

Yeap that's true just 2 pc's on a 5000 person network. What was
happening these 2 pc's were trying to create so many outbound
connections that I was getting memory errors as if the memory was bad or
I had a software memory leak. Call tac replaced everything and still the
same problem decided on a sniffer and it showed me exactly what was
going on. Utilization went from 99% down to 2% when I took those pc's
off the network.

Sniffers are your friend.
