I just purchased an RSP7000/RSP7000CI card set. Upon bootup it gives the
message %RSP-4-COOKIE: Corrupt or missing MAC address cookie using random
base
Comparing it with another card I find that it is missing a small plug-in
module located at the rear bottom of the card. Part numbers are DS1201 and
9537 with the name Dallas. Anyone have such an item? Maybe off a trashed
card.
Without it the card picks a random base to generate MAC addresses for the
interfaces. Unfortunately it is different each time it boots. I am aware
that can break some configs and definitely create havoc with others arp
tables. Any thoughts if this makes the card unusable.
