Title: A Call To Arms (Second Call)
A short time ago, I invited people to begin writing indicative content at http://www.textop.org/wiki/index.php?title=Proposed_Articles_for_Citizendium_Pilot_Project. I am pleased that this process has now started and I now invite as many as possible to join the resulting debate on the Talk pages and elsewhere . My hope is to produce a discussion file containing guidance on audience level, accessibility and all the other significant factors that will be considered when an editor accepts or rejects an article. This file will not be a set of binding rules, but merely guidance to the editors when appointed, the authors, copy editors, and other interested persons.

I would value anyone taking the time to place content in the Wiki or to comment on the discussion pages. Content can either be a fully fledged article, or it can be copy to illustrate a suggested standard accompanied by an introductory commentary. I am seeking to focus on practical examples rather than abstract notions. Thus, if you feel that a particular format or template would be useful for identified purposes, please share that with us all. If you feel that particular vocabulary or syntax constraints should apply, I would be interested to see examples of what might be (un)acceptable and why you take that stance. In a few days time, work will begin in the Alpha phase. I prefer that all those who are to undertake that work, begin with a reasonably comprehensive shared understanding of the proposed criteria. The idea that articles might have to be rewritten later on is unacceptable to me. Thus, the more rapidly we evolve some degree of shared understanding, the better.
