All,

Hooray! 2000 CZ Live articles!

As near as I can determine, the 2000th article marked "CZ Live" is
"Metabolic diseases (human)":

Its sole contributor so far is Nancy Sculerati. Why am I not surprised?
Thanks, Dr. Sculerati.

But I would like to point out that "live" article #2001 is "Red Dwarf
(television series)":

The sole contributor of that one is linguist John Stephenson. Thanks, John.

So, let no one say we have a strictly academic focus. We do have a fairly
academic focus, it's true, but we also have articles about movie actresses
and television and other pop culture topics. Our most active literature
editor, Russell Potter, also writes about hip-hop...

This is a particularly encouraging milestone, because we've added over 800
new articles in a little over two months (i.e., since our public launch).
That in turn means that the pace of production has increased since the
pilot project--despite the fact that the last two months have been during
the end of the semester for many contributors (teachers and students).

I hope we can keep it up over the summer, although I recall from Nupedia
and Wikipedia days that summer is typically a slower period. We'll see!

I'd like to point out that in trying to determine which article was the
2000th marked "CZ Live," I discovered huge numbers that *weren't* marked
"CZ Live," though they should have been. If you want to make sure that
articles are added correctly added to our database, please track

http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/Special:Newpages

regularly. I'm going to put a link to that page from the front page of
the wiki (which, in my opinion, is due for a complete redesign--which you
can feel free to dive in and do, if you have the MediaWiki chops).

Also, please help by placing the article checklist (linked from the left
sidebar now!) on the talk page of all new pages. Please do help new
people (and lazy people!), when you notice a new unchecklisted article.

Thanks, and well done, everyone!
