All, I just thought I'd let you know: as of now we are caught up--there are no applications for authorship or editorship that have waited for longer than 24 hours for a reply.
I've told the people responsible for reviewing applications, constables and editorial personnel administrators, that I will personally see to it that we give a reply to all personnel-related mail within 24 hours. This means that I will be looking over those inboxes myself on a daily basis and making sure we're keeping up. I'll process the applications myself, if necessary. Now all we have to do is get this automated approval system installed, which is coded up and ready to be tested, and we can then feel confident enough of our ability to respond to applications rapidly that we can start doing some systematic recruitment. Anyway, having caught us up, for me, it's back to my planning for CZ 2.0.
