Dear editors and authors,

Let's keep working on the Core Articles project, please!

http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/CZ:Core_Articles

To keep it moving along, I've designated eight stages of development for a
workgroup's 99 (or 198) articles:

1. No topics nominated.
2. Fewer than half nominated.
3. Most or all have been nominated, but not assigned points.
4. All topics nominated and assigned points by someone.
5. All topics and point assignments "locked in" by the Core Articles
Coordinator (who ensures that the most qualified active person on CZ has
looked over the list).
6. At least one, but fewer than half, of the core articles in the workgroup
have been written and OK'd.
7. Most but not all of the articles have been written and OK'd.
8. All articles have been written and OK'd.

If you look at the [[CZ:Core Articles]] table of contents, here

http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/CZ:Core_Articles#The_Core_Articles

you will see what stage each workgroup is at. Far too many are at stage 1
or 2 (including all of the humanities--an area in which we actually aren't
*that* bad), and only one is at stage 4: Earth Sciences, thanks to Nereo
Preto and several authors.

I've called for a Core Articles Coordinator among the editors, but if no
editor steps up, I'll be asking from among the broader community. This
*shouldn't* be a big job.
