Most everyone agrees that we will fail to recruit otherwise competent scholars who can or will not use the wiki editor to initiate new articles, add new sections to articles, or edit existing articles. Ideas aborning promise software converters, '.doc' '.rtf' '.docx' etc. to MediaWiki. As a stopgap measure, we need MediaWiki wizard-volunteers to serve as human converters. With a cohort of such, we can offer scholars to compose and reference in their usual word processor, and not require them to learn the mark-up language. We also need ideas related to this project, ideas on how to facilitate it, improve it, or whether it will not work in practice. If you have no interest in volunteering as a 'wikiconverter', as Stephen Ewen calls them, perhaps you could discuss with someone who might, or refer them to me.
