All, The subject line sums it up. We're launching a temporary initiative. For one week, let's write stubs!
================== What is Stub Week? For the week of November 7 through November 13, we are--experimentally--actually encouraging Citizens to write extremely short articles, known as "stubs." (Not to be confused with certain beer bottles.) We are also reducing the minimum content length to two sentences. Obviously we still require high quality. Yep, that's right: it's time to start filling up the gaps, if only with stubs. Think of them as placeholders and enticements to further development. ========================== Categories to add to stubs On all stubs, add *three* categories: 1. [[Category:Stub Articles]] 2. [[Category:CZ Live]] 3. At least one workgroup category, e.g., [[Category:Geography Workgroup]] ============================ Are core articles fair game? Feel free to create stubs out of [[CZ:Core Articles]]. But if someone expands your two-sentence article to 250 words, that person can claim the available points. Your bragging rights extend strictly to just starting the article. ==== Also As we kick off the Write-a-Thon (which is happening as I write this), I'd like to encourage the partiers to do this...start some stubs, then help expand other people's stubs. You grow my stub, I'll grow yours. (This isn't nearly as lewd as it might sound. We're talking about encyclopedia articles, people!) Please don't use Wikipedia content to start your stub. (Duh.) If you are especially ambitious, start your stub as a subpagified article (see http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/CZ:Start_article_with_subpages) and compose the Related Articles page (see http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/CZ:Related_Articles )...and fill make stubs for at least all the Parent Topics. I asked for and received approval "by acclamation" from the Editorial Council for this small experiment. See you on the wiki, my stubby friends!
